Art 325

Class | 01

Project | Painting Rocks

In this lesson, our students explored how they could transform everyday objects into art. Each student began the project with a plain rock and through adding different media such as paint, pastels, pipe cleaners, fabric, and googly eyes, they transformed their rocks into art buddies. In today's art exploration, students used multiple art materials and techniques to recreate a rock into a work of art.

Class | 02

Project | Collagraph Printing

In this lesson, students experimented with how to transform materials and manipulate color, shape, and line to create abstract art. They explored how emotions can be communicated with design elements. Each student engaged in a multi-step process, first creating a cardboard and foam paper design, then applying paint, and finally transferring the image onto paper to create an abstracted collagraph print. In today's art exploration, students used color, shape, and line to create non-representational forms.

Class | 03

Project | Favorite Place Diorama

During this lesson, students were introduced to a new form of artwork called interactive art. They explored how artists can create artwork meant to be touched and interacted with by viewers, which allows them to take part in the art experience. Students created their own interactive artworks, in the form of dioramas, that represented their favorite or special places. In today's art exploration, students experimented with several materials and techniques to create an interactive artwork with two- and three-dimensional visual elements.

Class | 04

Project | Imaginary Creature

In this lesson, students learned about how artists and designers use their imaginations to create something that has not existed before. Students observed examples of how artists combined unfamiliar things and ideas to create an imaginary creature. This lesson focused on imagination and play, through which students created a clay sculpture representing their own imaginary creature.

Class | 05

Project | Collaboration Creation

In this art lesson, students embarked on a collaborative artwork adventure to share ideas and build community. They repurposed non-traditional materials into art-making tools through experimentation with found-object paint brushes. Students worked together to create one large 2-dimensional work of art. In today's art exploration, students communicated and collectively contributed to a collaborative painting, which allowed them to combine different ideas and perspectives.
